The Steelhead Triathlon is in need of help from the boating community in St. Joseph.  We need several boat owners and personal water craft to help the Ironman staff keep the swim course safe.  The race is on Sunday June 25th and you will be on the water from about 6:00 am until about 10:30.

You will receive a volunteer t shirt and lunch at the race finish area.  For boats, it mostly involves watching for swimmers in distress and notifying race staff of their location.  You may have a life guard on your boat at this time.

For PWC’s it could involve delivering swimmers who decide to drop to the beach.  If you have any questions feel free to contact me at  You can register as a volunteer at Steelhead Volunteer scroll down to the Swim Safety Team - Power Boats & Personal Water Craft (PWC)section.

Thank you for your help, Keith Sawyer
