Brad
German - Head Swim Coach
We
enthusiastically welcome back Brad German to the Club as our Head Swim Coach for the
2007 swim season. Brad is a Saint Joseph native where his swimming career began
at age 5 at Berrien Hills Country Club and St. Joseph Aquatics. He went on to
swim at St. Joseph High School and the University of Michigan.
Brad’s
many accomplishments as a competitive swimmer are far too numerous to
list, but let us mention a few: Brad was the 1988 Michigan Class B State Champion
in the 200 yard Individual Medley and runner-up in the 100 Backstroke; in his four years at SJHS he was named MVP
each year; in 1988 he set 2 varsity records at SJHS, both were 7+ year old
and both still stand today (18 years later); at the University of Michigan
Brad swam with several Olympians and World Record Holders. In 2006
Brad was inducted into the
St.
Joseph High School
Athletic Hall of Fame.
In
his thirties, Brad still swims
several times a week. He says that his love for
swimming and physical fitness is the most important “lesson” he has
learned over the years from his many coaches, and it is an ideal he would
like to instill in children today.
Professionally,
Brad is an eBusiness Partner with
Cybitek, Inc., a St. Joseph based
Internet design and marketing firm. While he is quite busy running this
business, he fortunately has the flexibility to devote enough time to
serve as SJRYC Head Coach. We are very fortunate to have a person
with Brad's experience, passion and enthusiasm to coach our team.
Brad also serves as the Head Swim Coach at
South Shore Health & Racquet
Club during our off season, and maintains the
"Swimming" area of the SJRYC website.
