We are in the process of renewing all memberships. Dues were due on Jan 1, 2010. If you have not sent in your renewal form and paid your dues, please do so now. SJRYC's Annual St. Patrick's Day Party
Open for the season - March 17th!!!
The beginning of the 2010 SJRYC is rapidly approaching. As per SJRYC tradition the club will open for the first time in 2010 for our Annual St. Patrick's Day Party! The event is always a great time to meet new members, visit with old friends, drink green beer and enjoy live music in addition to an authentic Irish Dinner! SJRYC's New Wine Tasting/Selection Party!!!
A great new tradition...
At the start of the 2010 season, the SJRYC will be introducing a new tradition. The management of the SJRYC would like to welcome each of its members to our New Wine Tasting/Selection Party!!! This exciting event will give everyone an opportunity not only to see old friends and welcome new members to the club but also to enjoy a wonderful evening of delicious food, soft music and amazing wines! Attendees will be treated to descriptions of each wine by our guest sommelier while also given the opportunity to score each wine based upon their own opinions and criteria. The most exciting news however is that the wines selected by our guests will become new additions to the SJRYC wine list. This will allow us to keep the wine list fresh and new every year while ensuring that the wines you enjoy most are available while you're here at the SJRYC! This event will be by reservation only. TGIF Dinner & Featured Guest Speaker (Tania Aebi)
Friday -- April 30th
Mark your calendars, April 30, 2010 the yacht club is proud to present Tania Aebi www.taniaaebi.com. In May of 1985, when Tania was only 18, she cast off from the docks of South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan and sailed 27,000 miles around the world, alone on her 26-foot sloop, Varuna. Concerned about her lack of ambition, her Swiss-German father had offered her this opportunity as an alternative to a college education, and she took him up on it. For the next two and a half years with only her cat for company, she crossed the Caribbean, the South Pacific, the Indian Oceans, the Red Sea, the Mediterranean and the North Atlantic, stopping in 23 countries along the way.
She sailed through storms and calms, gathering stories, friendships and maturity along the way. She also learned a lot about setting a larger that life goal and being committed to following it through mechanical breakdowns, the death of her mother, loneliness, doubt and fear. In November 1987, just barely 21, Tania stepped back onto the cement shores of New York City, a solo-circumnavigator.

Every Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday
Each week (Wed., Thurs. & Sat.) white table linens, romantic candlelight & soft dining music transform the SJRYC Dining Room into an elegant fine dining experience. An exquisite menu selection rotates each week with delicious specials that have included Fresh Chilean Sea Bass grilled to perfection, Seared Ahi Tuna Steaks, Seafood Stuffed Golden Trout, Barbecue Ribs and more! Of course we still offer everyone's traditional favorites each week such as our famous Pan Fried Lake Perch and Tender Filet Mignon w/Sautéed Crimini Mushrooms. Each evening a featured Appetizer, Wine & Dessert are carefully selected to offer additional options while also complimenting the featured selections. General Membership Information
SJRYC strives to provide a casual atmosphere, affordable prices, and a spirit of fellowship, community, and education, building on a rich history of boating, swimming, and socializing in a uniquely nautical location.
The SJRYC has officially filled its membership for the 2008 season and established a wait list for the 2009 membership. If you previously submitted an application for membership, were present on last year's waitlist, but were not eligible for a membership, your name will remain on the wait list in the order received.
If you would like to become a member and be placed on the wait list, please fill out a New Member/Wait List application (above) and mail it to the club. Applications may also be picked up at the SJRYC.
We update the list and post it to the website approximately once a month, so if you do not see your name please check again in 1 month. If your name is not listed 1 month later, please email your inquiry to membership@sjryc.com. Waitlist applications for 2009 will be Time/Date Stamped and processed based upon that order. The SJRYC board has the final determination on acceptance of all applicants.
